Niger’s newly displaced flee spread of Sahel insecurity

Each day dozens of babies, women and children arrive, exhausted and overwhelmed, in the town of Ouallam in western Niger, after fleeing on foot from dangers that have overtaken their villages near the border with Mali. Hana Abdou, a 63-year-old grandma, is one of them.
